Dated: October 1 2021
This is the quarter of the year when many real estate agents consider making a brokerage change. The 4th quarter gives us plenty of time and opportunity to do our due diligence, to make a decision, and to start wrapping up in-process business so that we don't leave any dollars on the table when exiting the current brokerage.
The new year is the perfect time to start a new adventure with the new brokerage.
I am writing this today, not because it is the first day of the 4th quarter, or even because today is my 3rd anniversary with eXp realty; but, because today I read an article in The Close, What's the Best Real Estate Brokerage to Work for in 2021
, and eXp Realty LLC was recognized as the best brokerage for part-time agents on the list of TOP 5 brokerages!
And I wanted to share my pride and the article with you, since we've come so far in such a short time. And, I wanted to clarify some of the comments in the article about eXp Realty LLC.
First, the article says that eXp Realty LLC is the best brokerage for part-time agents. It is indeed true that eXp is a great brokerage for part-time agents, in that you get same agent benefits (like company stock) as full-time producers, without much of the expense that some other brokerages require.
But, it is also true that eXp is the best choice, in my opinion, for new agents, meat-and-potatoes agents (that's me), high-production agents, teams, and indy brokerages. Ask me why.
Now, let's discuss the bulletpoints in the article's chart below:
Pro Bullet 1: Yes! We have a massive library of on-demand training materials! We also offer more than 40 hours of "live" training, by industry greats, in eXp World, every week - which includes unique topics and perspectives you aren't likely to get anywhere else.
Con Bullet 1: Actually, there are a few brick and mortar offices throughout Illinois that were strategically inherited from independent brokerages who've joined eXp. Some are available for use as an office for agents, and some are for business address purposes only. That said, eXp agents get free membership to Regus executive lounges, and discounts on their private office space.
Pro Bullet 2: The commission structure is transparent and offered to everyone, regardless of their tenure in real estate. 80%/20% for all agents when they begin working for eXp, as long as they have closed at least 3 transactions within 12 months of starting. Otherwise:
Con Bullet 2: Setting the record straight on this one. "Live" assistance is one of the main reasons for eXp World - our virtual administrative office. With real people talking with you and less time wasted than trying to get in to see your office managing broker, we pride ourselves on one-to-one service for everything from state brokerage management to commission assistance to IT support.
As regards mentoring, we offer a full-blown and highly effective mentor program for new agents and those who haven't closed 3 transactions in 12 months prior to joining. I happen to be an eXp Certified Mentor and am successfully coaching new agents to and through (and beyond) their first 3 transaction every day. Ask me
how the Mentor Program works.
Pro Bullet 3: Absolutely right. You should hear some of the stories of how eXp has changed lives.
Con Bullet 3: Some people at eXp focus mainly on attracting agents to the company, it's true. Some people never bring on even 1 agent the whole time they are with eXp. And then there are those of us who have it on our minds, would like to grow our revenue share by introducing the eXp opportunity to other good agents. But you are never required or pressured to participate in agent attraction.
